EU: Global Climate Change Alliance
In 2007, the European Commission delivered a communication to to the Council and the European Parliement on the necessity to build a Global Climate Change Alliance between the European Union and poor developing countries most vulnerable to climate change.
The five GCCA priority areas include :
Adaptation
Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD)
Enhancing participation in the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)
Promoting Disaster Risk Reduction
Mainstreaming climate change into poverty reduction development strategies
